Interior Storm Windows - Alternatives to Larson ComfortSEAL?
I was just about to purchase Larson Larson ComfortSEAL interior storm windows (for weather and sound insulation) which come highly recommended. Unfortunately, they’ve been discontinued.
Can anyone recommend alternative window inserts with strong weather and sound insulation performance that are reasonably priced?

Thanks so much for providing so much helpful information. I will definitely call them.

As long as you get a sufficiently snug fit (or cover the whole opening, caulk, etc.) they definitely reduce the noise level. We also used heavier glass to help with sound, although that made some of the panes pretty hefty.
The magnetic tape works well, it’s essentially a 1/2″ magnetic strip that runs along the full right and left side of the mounting rail. So the top of the storm pane is held in place by an ‘H’ channel, the bottom rests on the sill, and the sides are kept in place with the magnets.
I’d definitely recommend calling them and talking through your use case/sending some photos, the sales team was very helpful in terms of product selection and measurement.

If you buy double hung interior storm windows, you can leave them in 12 months a year.

Where do you store storm windows in the summer?

Thanks so much. Did these windows also block sound? And how did the magnets hold up? (I hadn’t considered window inserts with magnets.)

We used Allied Window (based in Ohio) for a previous property, and were really happy with the windows. Nothing but good things to say about the company, too. I believe they also came in as the cheapest of the vendors we looked at.
