How to insulate this area of basement, pics in post.
This is a basement, above ground, subfloor. We always have air coming up on the baseboards front house wall. I’m wondering what type of insulation and if it is a DIY job.
We removed the fiberglass insulation there to do.some work, but it didn’t make a difference, it’s always drafty. [20171019_103837-1](//muut.com/u/brownstoner/s3/:brownstoner:II8x:20171019_1038371.jpg.jpg)

Or just go to HD, get some thick XPS and some foamboard caulk (i.e. Loctite PL 300 etc) , cut the rectangles and fit the void. you can use the foam caulk to adhere it to the wood, brick and successive foam layers and seal around it like regular caulk. Much less messy and low VOC instead of the spray stuff. Cut w/ razor knife. The liquid foam is a mess if you get it on clothes etc

I would get a 2 component spray foam from Home Depot/Lowes and apply into the gap on the whole width of the building. That will close any air leaks. It’s definitely a DIY job, but read the instructions.
