How to hold down wandering steam pipe escutcheons
I recently put escutcheons in place around a few of our steam pipes, but they seem to have a way of working themselves up out of position (over the course of, say, a day or so). I suppose this happens as the pipe slightly expands and contracts with the heating cycle. I want to make sure gaps are plugged/blocked off from pests, and was hoping the escutcheons would do the trick, but if they work themselves out of place, we then have a (small) open gap around the pipe. Plus, it doesn’t look as nice as if they’re flush with the floor. Any ideas on how to hold them in place? Thanks!
