How to hire for a grab bag of miscellaneous jobs?

Just closed on our (first) house and have a bunch of small-ish jobs to get done, like:

Sealing / weatherstripping the front and back doors
Fixing a few windows with broken sash springs
Checking out the roof and advising on when it’ll need resealing
Cutting out the inside of a cabinet to receive a dishwasher
Installing the dishwasher

Also some more involved jobs, like:

Building/modifying two closets
Replacing a sliding door partition with a partial wall and different sliding doors

Do I pretty much need to find individual vendors to deal with the doors/windows/roof?

Any recommendations for someone to do the closet/partition work?

talk to this guy: tom staggs 646-247-3593. he is a carpenter and works alone and is versatile. if you get him over for other stuff, he can probably advise on the roof if it is the coating you are asking about. like me, he probably maintains his own and as a do it yourself homeowner, he should know. he can easily manage the closet/partition. and the cabinet – he makes cabinets from time to time, so he can modify one. he is licensed and insured. the company is Handicraft.

you need someone who works alone for these small things. someone a little more skilled than a handyman but not someone with a crew.

i work on doors and seal them all the time, with our own insulated weather strip which we make here. but i am busy now. too busy. in january i might have more time. and if you got me there to address one or two things, i would see about doing one or two of the others if i had the time.
