How Long Does It Take to Jackhammer Off a Facade?

My next-door neighbor is about to re-facade their brownstone. It’s four stories by 21 feet with traditional details. I can’t get an answer from their contractor, A. Malek, on how many days the jackhammering will go. It’s critical because I would have to cancel Airbnb guests. Any guesses from you experts?

Your AirBnB guests will be out all day, they are not coming to NY to stay inside all day I am sure.
Yes, it is dusty work to take the facade off the house, it is not as load as a “jackhammer”. It is done by hand with hand tools; with the occasional electrical tools. And unless you specificaly ask them to get it done asap, they will not work on weekends.
Go and see one of Malek’s current jobs in action.
Forewarn your guests and if they want to cancel, let them. But I am sure you will find most will appreciate the forewarning & still want to come to stay.
Legal AirBnB’s within the City in the height of the Summer are few & far between.

It varies. it varies with what they find doing the work and what the scope has to be and it varies with the weather. I can’t recall that they actually used jackhammers on mine and they certainly didn’t work in the evenings or overnight so your concerns might be overly cautious but I can understand wanting to alert the guests.
