Homeowners insurance with big dogs
Does anyone have homeowners and liability insurance in Carroll Garden that allows dominant breed dogs?

Chubb and State Farm I think cover all breeds, but take into account bite history. AIG might be OK – but you may be required to bundle another insurance product to purchase their homeowners policy. Travelers and Farmers have a less restrictive list than the other big insurers.
An umbrella policy can be helpful as well.
There are of course standalone policies that can be purchased, like Xinsurance.

Some dogs breed are black listed by insurance companies and not covered a dog bite if your dog breed is from any one of them:
Akitas
Alaskan Malamutes
Presa Canarios
Chow Chows
Doberman Pinschers
German Shepherds
Pit Bull Terriers
Rottweilers
Siberian Huskies
It is very rare to find homeowners insurance co. that covered all types of breeds of dogs.
When you want to explore homeowners coverage guidelines and dogs, check out your fellow dog owners on online forums.
But some of my friends suggest Altra insurance you may check out maybe it will help you:

Thanks. I didn’t doubt that homeowners would be liable, but I thought a separate policy would be needed

My Brownstone agency policy has given me a rider for my Rottweiler in the past, sadly she is no longer with us.
Yes Bob, if someone breaks in and the dog does harm to the crook an owner is liable; even if you have beware of dog signs at the front door etc.

Does homeowner’s insurance normally address the issue of injuries caused by pets?
