Help wanted: shop for salvage/restoration?

We’re embarking on a townhouse renovation. We love reclaimed wood, tub, sinks, lighting fixtures, etc. But we both work, have two small kids, and little time to comb flea markets around the region. Doesn’t seem like a job for most decorators, and not something our contractor specializes in. Our ideal would be to find someone who does this regularly as part of their job, give them a list with specs, and work out a payment deal that seems fair. Anyone done anything like this? Or know anyone?

I don’t have a specific recommendation, but I would disagree with your statement that this doesn’t seem like a job for most decorators. This seems exactly like the type of job for which I could envision adding a designer to your team. You meet with the designer and discuss your style and goals, then bring the designer together with architect and contractor. Send the designer off into the wilds to find you pieces to match your vision. Seems like a plum assignment for the right designer.
