G&T dilema

my younger kid got good score on the kindergarden G&T test. We live in 20th school district in Brooklyn but can apply to NESTM. Does it make sense to apply to NESTM or for a district program? I heard commute to school is hard on kinder gardeners. And I afraid we cannot afford to relocate to East Village.

Of course there is also BSI, but so far I heard bad things about it.

@bobjohn BSI had an open house last week. My wife went and liked it but unfortunately it is very difficult to get in the school even with 99%. It won’t hurt to apply though. 229 open house was not that great.

thank you for the answers. the kid has 99%.
I visited NESTM. Nice school, but commute will be difficult. I think to go with a local G&T in district 20.
BTW, any info on BSI?

It is very difficult to get into NESTM. I believe there is only a couple of Kindergarten classes. In order for you to have a chance, your kid needs a 99% and then its lottery. For District 20, I think 72 kids that have 99% this year..that is just District 20. Also siblings have priority seat first. This is the same for BIS in Brooklyn. you should take this discussion to Inside schools, you will find a lot of school/parent issues.
