Gas installations

It’s against the law in NYC for anyone to install a gas appliance who isn’t licensed. Home Depot & Lowe’s offer the service but when the guys get there you will find that they can’t/won’t do the work. You’d think such large corporations might have coordinated laws & capabilities for specific locales but they haven’t.

No its not against the law which does not mean they will do it but its a 20 minute job anyone can do. whats against the law is to work on gas piping, The flex hose doesnt count in this instance. Con ed will no longer install gas boilers or subcontract them out but boilers must be hard piped with a union and drip leg etc.
