^ My worry with RS-53 is the same with Bluon; it will not get backed by the manufacturer and void warranties.
To make matters worse: when I was down at the Daikin facility, they talked about how every manufacturer is going to switch to using their own brand-specific refrigerant.
Business are made to make money; they will always find a way.

Wow–to that point about 410a, the phase-out has already begun. No idea the lifespan of the mini splits or the refrigerant, but new 410a rules have already been implemented and full adoption is this coming January 2024.

Correct; in your post you said it was a 410A system if I remember, correct?
410A is on the way out and will be obsolete extremely soon so will get the same “you used 410A in your house?!” extremely soon. When I visited Texas in December I believe they said the phase out was starting this year.
My point was just to show state of the art today will be old, or even dangerous in cases like mercury or lead, by tomorrow.
For the original post; it is an efficiency way to use Natural Gas today.

Says the guy who just got a quote on a 410A System. That system will be not only obsolete but illegal within five years which means your refrigerant recharge costs are going to sky-rocket as well as replacement equipment; if they are even allowed to be sold that is….I call that INSANE.

i am with JPDA and you don’t need a time machine or crystal ball, it has already happened. installing a new gas fired boiler is INSANE.
