Floor support needed for baby grand piano?

Hi Brownstoners!

We’re about to purchase a baby grand piano for our parlor floor, and plan to place it in a corner of the front parlor. Does this typically require any floor reinforcement below? Who could help us with this? Thanks in advance for your guidance!

I had one for many years, no problems, but keep it away from radiators and look into how to keep the wood support from drying out (and cracking).

nah… doesn’t way as much as 6 normal sized people. Just be careful moving it around; if it only has the tiny wheels it can gauge a soft floor.
