Fire rated door

Anyone know where i can get a quick tunr around on a 24×72 90 min fire door.
Most places are quoting 4 weeks. Cant i just cut a 24×80?

Taking 8″ off a door and most certainly a modern door is too much. How would you split the trim? 2″ off the top would leave 3″ on the top rail. 6″ off the bottom would leave 2″ on the typical bottom rail. If you buy a solid core, when you trim the top and bottom you will cut the solid wood off exposing the core.

People do what you are thinking of doing all the time with varying degrees of success. Trimming one of these also probably voilds the fire rating.
