Exterior wood bay window help

We are looking for recommendations for someone to repair and paint the exterior wood bay window on our brick home. I’ve also heard that you can put sheet metal over the wood to make it longer lasting. Has anyone had experience with this? If so, what did you have done and what was the result? Thanks
