Door replacement

I am looking to replace the exterior double entrance doors to my brownstone in Park Slope. Any suggestions and/ or companies?

We just had this done and had an amazing improvement. It is not cheap. But we had to replace and rebuilt the entire frame since it wasn’t salvageable anymore. We used Joe Salem of Woodzone (www.woodzoneny.com). He and his team did an amazing job. See pics. Come from a contractor family, so this one got my seal of approval. My consideration is: Don’t mess with doors, they are your first and only line of defense. and safety. Second: they have to seal correctly to keep the weather out. My doors were salvaged doors (even had handmade nails in them). We fully restored them. Replaced top fins (were wood) with glass, and the glass with thermopane. Also added film to the glass that can make the glass opaque/see through with a low voltage switch. So when we have people in front of the door they can not see inside, but I can throw switch and see them before I open the door. We are very pleased with the result. If you are in the Landmark district of Park Slope it probably best to find someone to restore your current doors. You need a Landmark permit to do anything to outside of the house.
If you are not Landmark; then you have many choices and many budget options. Do you know what style, material etc you would like?
Keeping to the original architectural style & quality is best for keeping property values in my opinion, but if you are not Landmarked you can get cheaper options if that is what is wanted.
Front Doors are a major investment in many regards; security, esthetics, first impressions/ value added to property. It is a long term investment.
