Does anyone have a washer/dryer combo? Worth it?
I don’t really want to go this route in my new house but currently I only have a washing machine. Anybody have a washer/dryer combo unit and love it or hate it? Thanks.

We had one years ago and it was great for baby clothes but not so good for towels or anything large. We still used laundry service or laundromat for sheets and towels. You can put a small loan in before leaving for work and come home to dry but wrinkled clothes. I’d only get one if space is a real issue. Or maybe they are better now.

The cycle is slower, so you just have to adjust to putting in your wash when you go to bed and it will be ready in the morning or put it on when you go to work and it will be done when you get home.
You just have to give up the fun afternoon of watching your laundry getting done in a little over an hour or so…

@slopefarm– yes the single machine that does both is what I mean. I’ve only seen them in Europe and the Caribbean but then saw one at Home Depot in Brooklyn and thought “maybe they have gotten better for US market?”. Thanks for your insight.

If you mean a single machine that does both, I recommend against it. We used to have one in the garden apartment that we offer as a rental. We thought we could split the difference on a washer/dryer vs linen closet. The unit was slow, particularly the dry cycle, and prone to breaking down. It also had very limited capacity. Better to get stackable separate washer and dryer, even if you need to go electric and ventless for the dryer (but at least run a 220 line.
