Demo permit?

Hi – Our basement is semi-finished, but the work was done a long time ago and without a permit. It is just drywall and an old bar, and we’d like to demo the space to make more room for storage. Would this require a permit?

I know that any basement conversion which usually involve excavation, and significant changes to the structure of your home, which must be approved by Council. But you won’t convert a basement into a habitable room, that’s why not

If it is just walls added to a space or basement after the house was built and nothing load bearing, i dont believe that is considered demo. The bar is built in furniture.

Be careful with electric outlets. An electrician should be disconnecting them.
