Custom glass door

I have a big window in my kitchen that goes out onto a fire escape, and I am thinking of putting a glass door there instead.

Any recommendations for contractors that could fabricate something like that?

I had mine done 13 years ago by a door/window shop in S Brooklyn whose name I forget. Cost was about 1500 for a standard door with one large glass panel. It was installed in a few hours, and has good weatherstripping, very important in an exposed door.

Got to get a GC and then order a custom patio swing door.
Door should run $1500-2000 depending on options.

Go to Home Depot or something and pick out the door you want. Find a contractor with a good mason to make the opening according to the door measurements. Then close it back up. This way you’ll save a lot of money because a custom glass door costs a lot of $$$
