Constant high-pitched noise in Prospect Heights

My neighbors and I have been hearing this awful high-pitched noise the last few weeks through all of North Prospect Heights. It seems to be coming from one of the new Atlantic Yards/Pacific Park buildings around the Barclay’s Center but it’s hard to tell exactly which one.

We’re guessing it’s some sort of faulty machinery or malfunctioning HVAC unit. Anyone know the source or how to put a stop to it?

Seems like 38 Sixth Avenue at Pacific Park may be the culprit. They say they’re waiting for parts to repair it. Meanwhile it’s only gotten louder.

With all the large developments going on around the area I think this will become more and more common. Call 311 / report it online. What a nightmare.

There was a great story last month about a noise heard all over BK heights and the detective work to find the source. I think it was in the BK paper
