Con Edison cones blocking residential parking

Last week, Con Edison placed cones outside the block of my house. It is blocking 4 residential parking spots. The 5th being a van that someone is sitting inside making sure no one moves the cones. It has been a week and I have not seen any type of Con Edison work. Residential parking here are difficult to come by. I called Con Edison hotline and they confirmed that there is scheduled work being planned there but there is no timeline of completion. Can they just block the parking indefinitely? I cant believe they can just block parking spots with no estimate work schedule and paying for someone to sit in the car for this long.

Did you ask him why they are there? If there is stray voltage, they probably want nothing there.

second JH. when we work in these nabes, we park there and tell them what time we will be gone out and they let us move the cones and park. you cannot park if the wire guys are working. only the day before the work is to start.

Just tell the guy you’re parking there and you’ll move your car when needed. Give home your location and phonenumber. Happens all the time
