Common Area Damage - Coop Renovation
Like any renovation in a walk up building, there may be some damage to the hallways (scractches, etc). My renovation is in a small coop and is ending. The alteration agreement states my contractor may do the fixes but if they do not the board may hire it out and charge me. The coop board has never been nice to me and opted to hire it out from the start. The thing is, they gave me a number of 6k-8k for the repairs. They did not provide any contractor estimate or any itemized estimate. I respectfully requested this and I got back a sentence response from management that the repairs are for “materials, painting, patching, etc. ”
Still not actual estimate or what exactly is being worked on. Should I press for this? Does it sound suspicious?
I did take pre-reno photos and video of the common areas with the contractor. I find it odd that I’m not getting any line by line estimate or the opportunity to do a walk through. It’s a very small building so it strikes me as a strange as a walkthrough would take like 20mins.
Any advice?
