Bumblebee hive removal

I’ve found a small bumblebee hive in some straw in my back yard. The hive is in a plastic container, so they can’t dig into the group.

I can kill the bees with insecticide but wanted to see if anyone could recommend a bee removal service that would relocate the hive instead.

Yeah that doesn’t sound all that cheap, but as someone with a soft spot for bees it definitely sounds like a worthy investment. I’ll be sure to keep an eye out for Mickey the Bee Keeper should I ever need a similar service.

Thanks. I ended up finding Mickey the Bee Keeper, who specializes in collecting and relocating bee hives. He was here and gone in 10 minutes, boxing up the entire nest. Cost was $170, which isn’t necessarily cheap but considering travel, skill, and having to safely relocate the hive without destroying it was worth it to me. http://mickeythebeekeeper.com

try the brooklyn botanic garden perhaps they would know a reputable person. With bees in duress around the world it would be nice to relocate if you can, or at least remove with minimum of poison.
