Brownstone Celing restoration.

I wanted to restore an Original brownstone Celing 80% of it was in tact and although I’ve expressed to my contractor to stay away from damaging my Celing more they ignored my instruction now 30% of the original Celing is in tact is it still worth restoring if so can you recommend someone if not who can replicate a grand madalion an create crown molding in a brownstone for a reasonable price?

I’m very much in favor of keeping and restoring original plaster details, but there are very convincing polyurethane foam molding, medallions, etc. I recently replaced a cracked (and not especially attractive) hallway medallion with such a medallion and , with caulking and painting, it doesn’t look at all out of place.

We used European Plastering after half our medallion collapsed they were reasonable hope this helps. Kevin 1347-766-1654

Tagco Construction are good. They can also replicate plaster moldings.

Yes the person you gave me can not start until may or June they are slammed with work an now the contractors have damaged more of the Celing making me wonder if it’s even worth the repair?

Btw- renovations are extremely expensive all on their own. Restorations add big $$$
