Brownstone architect

Hi, I am looking to start a brownstone reno in Cobble Hill soon. Trying to decide between using an architect to be a part of the process all the way through, vs finding one who will help with filing permits and assist on certain aspects of design in more a la carte arrangement. Any recommendations or thoughts on approach would be a big help. Thanks!
