Boiler inspection scam?

My mom had her yearly boiler inspection and the inspector gave her a list of things to correct (she had passed all inspections in previous years with all these same “violations.”)

I’m kind of suspicious about it because the inspection company also noted they are available to do the necessary repairs. It’s not a big job but it feels scammy to me. Does anyone have any experience with this kind of thing?

The DOB is being more strict on these inspections so companies are being more diligent as well to cover themselves. This in addition to ever changing code can have one previous pass become a fail. I would say get a second opinion though from another licensed company; never hurts.

A new employee; working by the book.
I prefer to use a local licensed plumber that gets all my license required business no matter what. That way they know your building, they also know that they will get enough business from you anyway.
