Bioswales-any nice examples out there?

So 6 months into the bioswale installation process this is what we have outside of our home. Can anyone provide any attractive examples of actual NYC bioswales? Still waiting for the city to finish this process, and there seems to be a long way to go

There are a couple across from Dyke’s on 6th street, and between Third and Fourth avenue; if you walk around Gowanus by Whole Foods, you should be able to see a dozen within a few blocks..
There are quite a few different designs. Some are built on top of a cubic yard of gravel, some have trees, others just native grasses and perennials.

I think there are some on 2nd Ave near 6th St and over in Carroll Gardens/Cobble Hill, but I can’t remember exactly where I remember seeing them. Maybe near some F stations?

This process can be slow, but they are careful to schedule things so that each group of installation experts (one does the marking, another does the curb, etc.) have the conditions just right so they can perform their work without delay (while they are on the site). That doesn’t mean that certain contractors aren’t working slow on purpose (being lazy, going to get a beer, etc.), but in general it is a phased process. I personally think it is ridiculously slow and the entire installation including the concrete curb (using precast), tree, iron-work, etc. could/should be installed in a day.

Try a 311 complaint either through twitter or their app. I’ve gotten several things resolved this way. Including a photo and super specific location information and landmarks helps.

Thanks, there is actually only one picture of a Bioswale in the press packet- the one on Dean and 4th. It was planted to look extra nice for the press presentation to show what bioswales were. I was curious if there were other actual examples that weren’t associated with a press packet. perhaps someone has one outside of there home or office and could snap a picture?
