Backyard Fencing: Who's responsible?

I have a backyard with fencing on three sides of my property (4th side is my house). My fence abuts three different neighbors’ fences. In other words, I’ve got a fence on one side of the property line and my neighbors all have fences on their side of the property. One neighbor is taking down their fence on their property. They have a fence on their left which is next to ours, and a fence on their right, which touches a different neighbor. Here is the question: despite the two fence situation, the law is that the property owner is responsible for only one fence on one side of the property? Does my question make sense? Thank you.
