Architect for Deck Project

Looking to install a deck over garage in Sunset Park and would like to work with an architect for design, DOB approval and to oversee the project – any recommendations or tips?

Hello! In most architectural firms the first step for this would be to do a zoning study to confirm it’s allowed based on your building site zoning requirements. Can you confirm your zoning district on the NYC zoning website: https://www1.nyc.gov/site/planning/zoning/index-map.page as a starting point.

Deck over garage? Do you mean a roof terrace? Lot’s of potential code issues there. Can you post a photo of the garage, some more details, and what zone you’re in?
