American Water Resources Lawsuit

I recently posted here about how American Water Resources wrongly denied my claim for a broken sewer line and that I would be suing them as a Class Action as I suspect I am not the only one whose claim has been wrongly denied. Some here indicated they had a similar experience, etc. and someone said they would join in the lawsuit, etc. However, for some reason, the posts/threads (there is another thread started last November by someone else) are ‘closed for discussion’.

Well, we have indeed filed a lawsuit in Federal Court (NJ as AWR is headquartered in NJ) filed August 9th, 2023 Index number 23-CV-04250.

Shaq, typically insurance policies do not cover outside lines. Nevertheless, anything can be insured but the premium is high – hence AWR! Note that an insurance company is regulated. AWR’s ‘coverage’ is not insurance and they are being sued (in class action) for wrongful denial of proper claims, etc…

shaq, read about this organization on this forum. i have them in this home i live in but i pay attention to what others say on line, including op and these other folks here. and now that you mentioned adding this to homeowners, i am thinking i might make an inquiry about that. i did do a home inspection not long ago and the owner told me that her sewer line had been covered by her homeowners. in so far as the cost of the AWR program, if you do not know how much it is and need a cost for comparison, let me know here and i will pull a water bill. also, if you learn anything from your insurance co with regard to covering water or sewer lines, it would be great if you can share that here. this is a concern for me and many others but we don’t have options.
