A/C repair - freon leak, nitrogen test, and repair?

Hi all, our central a/c unit may have a freon leak. The tech is recommending nitrogen leak test and possible repair. What’s a reasonable cost of the test and repair? Also, any other a/c repair vendor you’d recommend please? Thanks!

HVAC repairs are all across the board since New York City does not require a license for the work like plumbing or electrical, although you do technically have to someone in the company with an EPA license to work with freon but that you can virtually get online from your couch.
