how to prove that property is older than 1938?
This is the last obstacle between me and my new C of O.
Any tips?

Belcher Hyde or Sanborne maps. Go the brooklyn public library at Grand Army Plaza as i believe they have both. You can also contact Sanborne via their website and for 10-20 bucks they’ll send you your street map prior to 1938.

The property photos available from landmarks were taken from 1938-1940 I believe. If your building is there then I assume that would be proof.

Check with HPD to see if your building has an “I-Card”. DOB also accepts certified Sanborn Maps as proof.

Platt maps should work. The Brooklyn Historical Society had a good collection the last time I looked (although that was so long ago that it was still called the Long Island Historical Society).
