Backyard Rennovation

Anyone have a recommendation for small scale landscaper or garden designer / yard worker?
We have ideas but not the time or energy to do this job ourselves.

We’ve become THOSE neighbors. The ones who finally have a yard and let it go to weeds. Roughly about 350SF.

 Seriously our “yard” is made up of 4 foot tall weeds/vines/creepers and one crazy huge plant and a short cement patio right off the back of the house.

Looking for any advice on how to go about finding someone to do the work for us. Obviously, at a reasonable price.

We had Joseph at Woodland Landscapes (917-239-8644 or brooklyngardenclub at gmail and woodlandlandscapes dot com) help with our backyard after it was dug up by construction next door.  I’m not related to him and haven’t seen him in over a year, and my honest opinion is that he was great.  I think Joseph has been a judge for the Greenest Block contest (?) for a couple of years.  For us, he brought in massive amounts of dirt and stone and built a beautiful stacked dry stone retaining wall (which is his speciality) and laid a nice flagstone patio.  He gave me his experienced opinion but was really open minded: when I insisted that a yew should go right in the smack of everything he said okay even though that was unconventional, and when I insisted that the flagstones be several inches apart he made it happen.  His guys were friendly and hard working.  Because of the damage that had been done to our yard, our job may be bigger than what you’re looking at, but I’m pretty sure he’d do any size job.  Joseph was really flexible and gave me high- and low-estimates and plans to look at.  I love plants and wanted to do a lot of the planting myself so that I could chat with the plants as they went into the ground, but the plants that I okay’d from Joseph (a fern, the yew, a little mounding juniper, some sweet woodruff) are all doing really well.  If I had a front yard I would have him ‘scape it!

this is my second plug today for Eddie Cintron–917-312-9530.  he did drainage work and laid a small bluestone patio for me last month, and I’m having him back tomorrow to remove a dying tree & prune my healthy ones. he’s really nice and way cheaper than other people I talked to.

what are you thinking of doing? like cementing the whole backyard and probably put plants or flowers
