Old dresser that may have powder post beetles or some other insect

Thanks, Arkady. Where the insects are/were the wood is untreated, as it’s the interior of the dresser, so your suggestion could work fine. Appreciate the lead!

We bought a dresser from a Housing Works auction and when I got it home and took out the drawers, I noticed what I originally thought were holes created by termites in a few spots on the inside of the dresser. A friend who is a furniture finisher said he thought they were more likely powder post beetles. Regardless, does anyone know how to tell if they’re “active” and if they are how to get rid of them? Googled the subject and understand that some exterminators can put furniture in a fumigation chamber. Anyone have experience in with this — have a recommendation of who might do it? I’ll call Housing Works tomorrow to see if they have any info on the dresser and also see if I can return it, but it’s a nice piece and would like to keep it providing it’s not going to be a threat to my old house, which has lots of wood!

Wrap it in plastic bags – dry cleaner. Phone Empire Pest on Court. My ex-bf got rid of them but it was on untreated wood – finished furniture is harder to deal w/.
