I need to have the facade of my house re-brownstoned –  I’m on a landmarked block in Cobble Hill. I’ve gotten quotes from J.Mos and Valarosa & Sons and would like to get 2 more…Anyone out there have any recommendations? Thanks a bunch!

I used Edson and would highly recommend but the original owners retired and company changed hands a couple of years ago so you should check current references thououghly.  That means actually going to see work they have completed and jobs in progress as well as talking to the owners.  Which you should do for anyone you are considering.

Without a doubt, Jose Gonzalez Restoration Corp. in B’klyn.  He just finished the scratch coat for our Co-op in Carroll Gardens and I already love the look of it.  Very nice, agreeable, fast worker, neat and creative w/an aesthetic in finding solutions to bird-nesting issues.  My caution is to go and physically view work that contractors have done – we nixed several based on this.
