Subterranean Lovesick Termites
For a third opinion I highly recommend Michael Diesu. We have used him numerous times for clients’ homes. His phone number is 516-658-2393.

I discovered termites in our detached woodframe house last year, which we then had treated by Kingsway. They used injected Cyper TC into holes drilled all around the outside perimeter of the house as well as the perimeter of the basement. To me, they appeared knowledgeable and thorough. This spring we saw a small swarm of winged termites in our kitchen, emerging from the previously infected area. We called Kingsway back and they re-applied the treatment near that part of the house, both outside and inside. They told us that the treatment should work and that the swarm was probably from a few stragglers that survived the previous treatment. Also, it was explained to us that the termites live in the soil and enter the house on a daily basis to feed on the wood. The chemical treatment is to kill them and repel them from entering. Shortly after that, I told my neighber he might want to have his house checked and he did. I spoke with his exterminator (from a different company) and he expressed concerned that my treatment might not work because it is a repellant and might scare my termites to simply stay inside my house. Some other treatments, apparently, work as attractants and pull termites from the home. My questions: does anyone know if I should be concerned about termites living inside my beams despite having done the treatments? Any advice for how to determine definitively whether there are still termites living in the house? I will probably go for a 3rd opinion on the subject, but any knowledgable advice would be appreciated.
