Exterminator Recommendations for Bed-Stuy?

My upstairs tenants have seen a mouse – so far this is the only sign of any unwanted inhabitants, but I’d like to have someone come in and treat the whole brownstone as a preventative measure. Would prefer non-toxic … any suggestions?

Mice can be a real challenge to eliminate entirely.  They can fit through very small openings (the size of a dime) and once they find the food, they leave a scent trail for all their buddies to follow.  Your best bet is to close every possible opening, steel wool is great for irregular holes and then put out traps or poison.  Good housekeeping is crucial, so no dirty dishes left out, all dry goods in sealed glass or plastic, scrupulous cleaning of crumbs.  This said, outside of getting a cat, there is not 100% solution for mice.
