Tree trimming and removal

I couldn’t find a recent post on tree trimming & removal and I wanted to give a recommendation. I had several tall Norwegian Maples that had become diseased and were perilously leaning into my and the neighbor’s yards due to severe pruning over a number of years by the people behind me (shifting all the weight of the tree). It was time to take them down. I reached out to the usual suspects and used Family Tree from Staten Island. Joe came and took a look a day or two after I contacted them and did a great job of educating me about the trees. We agreed to take down 4 of the 5 trees (the 5th had not been pruned by the neighbors, so it was healthy and balanced). His prices were, I thought, competitive. The crew consisted of 6 guys and 3 trucks. They were excellent – really competent , incredibly hard workers, and nice guys. 90% of the job got done in a day, leaving just some clean-up the next day. Highly recommended.

I second the sentiment. We had Joe from Family tree remove a Norway maple in front of our Brownstone, but he couldn’t grind the stump because the electrical conduit to the house is only 18″ below the surface. Instead, we placed a large container with a beautiful Hydrangea in it – problem solved.
