Tree Removal in Brooklyn

Hello. I need a very large tree removed. I was quoted a price of $6,000 and it seems a bit high, though the person is a certified arborist. Can anybody recommend a tree removal specialist? I need it asap this wee. thanks very much.

Urban Arborists are kinda fancy (well spoken young college grads return your calls; a lengthy proposal/estimate is sent). But they are also way more expensive for delivering basically the same product as the folks who are a little rougher around the edges. Ask your neighbors who they recommend.

Thank you for the recommendations. I talked to two arborists thus far. One quote was $6k and one was $7k. I’m wondering if the low end of the scale that I’m seeing is for companies that don’t have workers’ comp and full insurance. I might try Urban Arborists but I see a lot of bad reviews for those guys. Anybody got experience with Urban?

Can I ask on this thread- how much does it generally cost to do an extensive trimming of a tree? We are buying a townhouse and tree in our backyard has been growing over our neighbors yard for years apparently. Want to start off on good foot and trim it (for her and us as well). Wondering how much this will cost us since money is tight.

We used family to remove a tree as well. They did a good job & the price was reasonable although I’m guessing it was a much smaller tree.
