Need help with house exterior!

Hi, I need help figuring out how to upgrade and modernize the exterior of my house. It needs a new roof, should I go dark? Also I think the bushes in front of the door need to go. Should I paint the brick? What color should the door be? Black hardware and house numbers or silver?

Some of what you ask is subjective, some not.

As for the roof, go light it will reflect heat in the summer.

And do not ever paint brick. Brick must breath. If it is painted, it will trap mousture and in the winter that mousture will freeze and expand and …..

A dark door in the city is generally nicer. Dark blue, green or black. Some say a red door will keep the bad spirits away. White doors tend to say suburbs.
