Expeditor Recommendation for HUB Alt-2

Background: – Filed Alt-1 with the HUB through a large, not cheap expeditor – So far, they have generally sucked in terms of communication, turn around time, and being useful in any actual way – I’ve gone through one round of objections, have re-filed and are now scheduling the next review – I want to file an Alt-2 separately and have our Architect self-certify so we can start demo and interior work while waiting for the Alt-1 so we can do an extension My current expeditor has quoted me $3k to file the Alt-2, which seems high given their general crappiness so far. I’m also thinking about switching expeditors after the permits are approved anyway for the C/O process. I’d like to get another firm to do the Alt-2 to try them out. If they’re better than my current one, I’d ditch the current one and replace them with the new one. If not, I can stick with the current one and am no worse off. Is this a terrible idea? Has anyone had a good experience with their expeditor? I couldn’t find any referrals less than two years old on the fourm.

Why did you need an expeditor for the HUB? Your architect should be able to file. An expediter is useful to make trips to the DOB and save an architect time. HUB filing and plan examination is done electronically. Your expediter seems to be overpriced.
