Expeditor Quote question

I got a quote from an expeditor for a Type-2 application, these are the details: $3,500 for: review of drawings, prepare paperwork, prepare architectural drawings, sing and seal type-2 application to obtain approval $500 for: obtaining one work permit $1,500 for: Provide inspections during the progress of work and upon completion (limited to 2 final inspections), prepare sign off documentation and have signed and sealed, process and obtain approval from DOB of the certificate of completed inspection and obtain sign off letter $750+samples for: to perform asbestos investigation $1,000 for: To obtain dismissal of 2 DOB violations and 1 landmark violation Does this quote seem fair and if it’s a little on the high end how much more than average am I spending? In addition to this I also got another separate quote for “Special Inspections” $1,240 – Special inspection masonry $1,450 – Special inspection mechanical system $1,250 – Special inspection structural safety/stability $950 – Special inspection heating systems $1,750 – progress inspection energy code compliance inspections (10 items) $1,250 – progress inspection final Our architect already told me that not all of them will apply, but what exactly are these items and I’d this something we can skip? Isn’t the DOB going to come and check everything on their own, I dont really understand why we need all of this in addition to their visits…..

Prices seem average to lower than average. Expeditor can’t draw or stamp plans, I’ll assume price includes fees for architect or engineer. Building inspectors are free to come and go as they please, but verification that structural, mechanical etc plans are followed correctly is on you via the special inspection process.
