Solar Panels

Hi– I am looking into solar panels for my home. I am wondering if anyone out there has experience with 1) solar panel and DOB approval; 2) How it has impacted your Con Ed bill; 3) are you happy with your decision to install the panels? thanks!

I just signed a contract to install solar as part of a group. I’m expecting it’ll take 4 to 6 months for the system to be commissioned. The delay is mostly with the DOB. I had a hard time getting quotes from installers on my own for a row house in Brooklyn. There isn’t much competition here because a lot of installers avoid flat roofs and row houses. Many are not interested because of the small system sizes and permitting/fire code issues. The ones that install charge much more than the national average. Having said that, others have recommended Fiveboro on here if you plan on going at it alone.
