Joint solar / green roof installation?

Our coop is considering installing solar panels in conjunction with a green roof, and figure it might be easiest to design and install the two systems in conjunction with one another.  Does anyone have any experience with solar installers who worked in concert with green roof experts?  Any advice on this would be appreciated.

There is a combination called the SunRoot System that combines green roofs and solar panels; the green roof acts as ballast for the system while evapotranspiration from the green roof helps cool the solar panels.  We did our first project on Randall’s Island and you are able to go up to the rooftop to check it out.  Also take a look at our website, www.greenrooftechnology.com for more info about the combination.  Feel free to contact me at 443.345.1578 – Ryan

Rob Ashmore and Al Frishman of Aeon Solar did our installation, and Mike S. of Roofmaster worked with them on putting in the “pots” for the solar posts. Rob and Al are the absolute best. I checked them out thoroughly before we made our selection and three years on, I have no regrets.
