coin operated washing machines

I am purchasing communal coin operated washer-dryers for a brownstone with 4 rental units. The choice is gas or electric. Which is more efficient and cost effective?

Gas is more effieint when it comes to drying clothing. Gas dryers will dry clothing faster then electric.  Levi Capland
