Looking for entry doors

Wondering if anyone has any entry doors they are looking to unload. We are trying to find double doors for a 90″ by 52″ opening. Tried all the usual places–Eddies, Olde Good Things, the guy by Lowes under the BQE etc. but can’t seem to find anything close enough to this size to work. Thanks.

Jim Illingworth (upstate NY someplace) has fabricated new doors from Spanish cedar from our drawings in the past. H e periodically delivers to NYC, and can fabricate the finish frame also. The quality and savings in labor aren’t really expensive.

Also try the WindowRama Farmingdale Clearance Center. The guys who work there are real aholes but the place has a lot of discounted windows and doors.

Did you try the place in Jersey City? http://www.amighini.net/architectural-antiques/double-doors/ They are pricey but they have beautiful stuff. I am looking for double entry doors for an 80 inch high opening, if anyone knows of smaller sized doors. Good luck!

Assuming you tried BIG NYC as well since you said “all the usual places,” just didn’t see it on your list. In the event you haven’t, they are located right across the street from the guy under the BQE by the Lowes (you actually have to turn down a driveway just before the bridge and then all the way around back. We have been searching too and have found that it is “hit or miss” depending upon the size you are looking for. We were limited by a shorter height than what appeared to be usual but finally found ours from the guy by the Lowes. A usual poster, “daveinbedstuy,” recently responded to a similar post and he provided a contact for an outfit he used that makes brownstone double entry doors and being that they are new are more energy efficient. Try searching some older posts for other contacts. Good luck!
