Calamine Door Installation

Anyone have a company they recommend to replace a ‘calamine door’? I am in Bay Ridge This is one of those ‘fireproof’ metal doors in a lot of coops…

My favorite supplier for kalamein doors is Metalline Fire Door Co. in the Bronx. They have supplied historic replica fire doors for several of my projects including our own loft. The guy I always talk to there is Luis: 718-583-2320 but I admit I haven’t had an occasion to talk with them in about 3 years. If they have survived this economy, I wouldn’t use anyone else.

Thinking of your posting’s spelling of calamine, like the lotion, I noticed a place just over the Gowanus Canal’s 3rd Street bridge on the right hand side going towards Bond St. that sold kalamein doors, the fire proof kind.
