Does anyone know of a good carpenter who would work with owner on renovating a garage into a studio?

I am looking to add an addition (6ft)  to a one car garage in Ditmas Park. (I don’t think I need a permit since I have a photo from the 50’s that shows a lean-to on the side where I want to build). I would like to find a reliable carpenter in the Brooklyn area who is experienced with exterior construction. If you have had a good experience with someone, I am very intertested in knowing your story.  Thanks,  Jason
