Bi-fold door alternatives

We have two closets by the entrance to our bathroom that have those cheap wood plantation style bi-fold doors (with the little plastic peg that glides on the metal track above).  I hate them.  They contantly fall off, break or otherwise annoy the heck out of me.  Any suggetions as to what I can replace them with?  Looking for something low cost that I can do myself.  I’ve even contemplated taking the doors off and putting up curtain rods for a fabric door, but I think the Mrs. wants something a bit more classy than that.

As suggested above, do you have the floor space to put in two hinged doors instead?  I dislike bifolds of any type because you can only see half of the closet at a time.   My place now has a of 4′ wide double doors and they make things very convenient.

There are better bi-fold doors, they’re not all cheap. I have solid wood cherry bifold doors in my closets. THey can be custom ordered from HD etc. Don’t know if they’ll fit your definition of cheap.

 I’m not a fan of bi-folds for the same reason. A pair of doors that open in the middle may work for you.
