Someone filled a complaint against me with DOB

Looking online I found that out. It was made in the begining of this month and it doesn’t say if someone came by to inspect it yet or not. Sorry for all the questions… If an inspector comes by and finds a violation – does he leave a note on the door or something? How often do they update the info online: is there a chance they came and filed a violation but it is not yet posted? If they try to gain access 3 times and can’t do it – then it is over?

it all depends on the nature of the complaint, but if it is serious in nature, they will leave paperwork that is threatening enough that you will schedule a return visit. you could put your head in the sand and get lucky, but then that person will call 311 again and it will start all over. Let them in and deal with what comes if anything – my advice

I it is a one or two family house, you do not have to let the inspector in.  If the alleged violation is not visible from the outside, they can not file a violation.  Won’t stop the DOB from coming back, but you can again refuse them entry.
