ABOVE GROUND POOL- Queens

I installed an above ground pool in my backyard. One of my neighbors called with a complaint to the DOB on me. So the complaint reads: that the pool is too close to the property lines. Inspector came but nobody was home and left an letter to call for inspection.
So on one side the pool is too close to the line. It’s 2ft and few inch. I think 9 inches short of the required distance.
What should I do now? Do I let them in next time? How serious is this ?

I’m afraid they will get a warrant if I don’t let them in.

Agree, avoid letting inspector in. Did you speak to the neighbors?

Some people just want to cause problems for others. Doesn’t really affect them in any way unless I am missing some context.

Sometimes a neighbor will complain once or twice and drop it and sometimes they will continue for years.

If you can keep the inspector from entering three times the complaint will be dismissed, although they could in theory complain again or let them into their house to see the problem. If they do see it and it’s actually a violation, which I don’t know if it is, them you would receive a fine. Bottom line, you should definitely not let them in.
