Where can I find replacement for decorative knob on staircase post? (picture)

This is a picture of the top part of the newel, the post that supports the handrail of the stair banister. I am missing that knob in several places. Does anyone know where I can purchase them or something similar?

You might try Dykes Lumber or M.L. Condon Lumber (in Westchester) to start.  Both have lots of stock decorative wood elements (M.L. Condon has more) and can custom match things for you if you want to go that route.  

Another option would be hiring a millworker – the decoration seems simple enough that someone may be able to just make a few for you custom.
